I'll plays at a charity concert with Tony Gaboury and David well this weekend mentioned "reminding of Tom Rowe". It is largely a people music concert, as Tom was referred heavily into the people music scene. Of it led away a pair years before from the cancer and thus goes that whole money from the concert to the Maine cancer company. Son Toms Dave even an excellent musician invited me to join a group for the appearance. For the concert we play something music, which is with connected, or in the tribute to Lenny Breau, which I met first by Tom.Tom Rowe, was an amazing human nature. He spurred confidence and seemed genuinly interested in the people around him. It was positively, hopeful, enthusiastisch, the forward thinking, merrily, and it loved music and musician. Tom was also much hip in many ways, at least thought I in such a way, and I looked up to him. Although hardly from its Teens themselves 1970-71 out, it connected and living playing formed became, when it did not go to the school at Usm (then, UMPG).I played some my first concerts with it, when I was 14, 15 years old. It played alto on those days and confronted wedding a volume, which played standards and other wedding music. The first concert, which I played for money, was a wedding with Tom in a volume, which contained Denny Breau, a fine guitarist writes in its (and now more wonderfully singer more songwriter and a photograph artist) who happens, the brother from Lenny to to be, generally confirm, in order to be one the largest Guitarre players, who lived at all. After the concert I explained Denny, how much I liked its playing. "if you think that I," it answered, "you should mine brother!"Tom to hear are good, which is used, in order to fetch me for concerts, since I did not have a driving licence still. It drove a VOLKSWAGEN bus I was really pleased to play with it. The complete experience was very exciting for me, although I did not want to show it. I enjoyed the travels probably straight as much as the concerts. We spoke much about music, and during these journeys I learned over the musician life, as well as music. Tom was very experienced and had good taste. He was an educated musician, who played a multiplicity of the instruments, and he was a large singer. I could hardly play the drums and did not know not that a chord of another.Tom jazz and spoke loved over the music like a jazz musician. It was Tom, which underlined to me that the miles Davis, which is on the title rail ' female solo brew ' - then a new release was based on the blood sweat and tears song up ' spinnendes wheel ' violently. This is an obvious connection, if you hear, but I, to hear everyone this, fact, including which critical mechanism of the jazz or other musicians has to show out. Even the bass line has a tangential relationship, but I digress.Tom also explained to me over John Coltranes ' mounting ' and free jazz. I remember him to try to explain this recording to me. When I finally heard it, I knew that which he spoke, was about.Tom my travel to a concert early 1971 by the Tony Williams lifetime, one of the most important concerts, which I had ensured at all me. The Tonys drums astonished technically and in music. I had never understood before from the music like that; the musicians were thus serious over their playing and caused a dark, intensive, loud mystique. Although I remained calm mostly in the heads way, trying, to process the devastating music I had experienced, asked straight I Tom, what he could call the music that night easily. "suitor rock!" he said with a laughter. This short and away-handed over answer was a pretty good description.Tom was enthusiastisch over all music, but it main header its largest enthusiasm for musicians up, whom it could do. Tom loved thickly the R-S then his brother-in-law and it admired Dicks drums. I am sure that he waived a quantity of jazz of thick. But it really loved Denny Breau and its brother Lenny. Tom was away from the hook, which speaks about Dennis, which was his friend and once coworker of the boy age. He loved Dennys playing and free spirit. They both divided an interest in the same thing in music acoustic playing, vocal harmonies and thus waive on.I on my memories of Tom and of our meeting with Lenny Breau in my following post.
